Vegas Wedding

I love short wedding dresses. BUT the only time I would wear one is if I ran off to Vegas to get married, and if that happens this is the dress I plan on wearing. It is fun and light, the way a short dress should be, the way I would like my Vegas wedding to be.

In addition to this beauty, Sarahseven has other gorgeous long dresses that would be beautiful to wear to a non-Vegas affair as well.

I have also been in love with a dress like this, sadly, since watching 27 dresses... I am in NO way promoting the movie, but wasn't that dress amazing?!
This dress from jcrew is similar and I think if this were my dress I would add lace across the middle section and probably not wear such heavy jewelry. I love love love the pockets.

What I love about the 27 Dresses dress is how it is cut in the back. A good back should always be flaunted.

Tapered Pants

When I first saw "boyfriend jeans", I thought they were the ugliest trend ever. But just like all trends I originally hate, I slowly grow to love them. While I still would never wear the boyfriend jeans, I would consider wearing tapered trousers.

Here are some boyfriend jeans. The ones on Rachel Bilson in the last picture are semi-cute, but they border on skinny jeans rather than boyfriend jeans.

Here are some examples found at Second City Style. I like #3 the best - the cuff that hits a little above the ankle. They are slim fitting, but not super skinny.

I really like these pants that I saw on Karla's Closet. She called them cargo pants, but when I think of cargo pants, I think baggy with huge pockets. Either way, these are cute!

I also like this example that I found at Stylish Wanderer (sorry I couldn't get the picture to upload).

Now to begin the search for the perfect pair. I may be too short to wear this style, but I'm going to try!!

Note: I consider harem pants and tapered pants to be two different styles. They are very similar, but I think harem pants are too baggy on top.

My new boots!

I have been looking everywhere for the perfect platform/wedge boot. I love platforms - they're easier to walk in than normal heels and a little more casual. I've been looking for both ankle boots (see previous Jeffrey Campbell post) and knee high boots.

I watched Love Happens last week and fell in love with the boots she wore in the beginning of the movie.
Of course they're Yves Saint Laurent, sold out, and way outside my budget.

But then I found these on Ebay and my dreams came true! I can't wait for them to come in the mail!

Engagement Rings

Even though I am not planning on getting married any time too soon, I can't help but think about weddings all the time! I know what kind of dress I want, the flowers, location, color theme, etc., but when it comes to the ring, I get stuck! I just cannot find an engagement ring that I love.

My mom's engagement ring is simple, but so beautiful. It's a gold band with two sapphires and three diamonds in a row (if that makes sense...). She also has two wedding bands. Both are identical, thin gold bands that go on either side of the engagement ring. I love it, but I think that I would rather not have a gold band and I don't think I want any colored stones.

I don't really want a huge diamond either. I'm afraid it would take over my hand. However, I do like three stones - two smaller ones with a larger one in the center. But whenever I look at pictures online, I can never find something I want.

Here are some rings that are close, but not quite...

I think that when I actually get engaged, I will love any ring that I get because it came from the person that I love the most (sounds cheesy, but it's true!)

Olsenboye

So the Olsen twins released a juniors clothing line called Olsenboye at JC Penney. It's way cheaper than they're other lines (The Row; Elizabeth and James) and it's aimed at a younger target, but some of the clothes are very cute! Their Spring 2010 collection that's out now is influenced by New York City and their future collections will be based off of other big cities like London, LA, and Paris. I'm excited to see what they will come up with.

Here are some of my favorites:

Basically I love blazers right now especially the gray color of this one!

This dress is cute. I don't love the way the waist comes together, but there is an exposed zipper in the back that makes up for it!

I don't usually wear pink, but I like the style of this skirt with the bow at the waist

I love this tunic - especially with the pockets!

Like I said, it's aimed at a younger crowd. There are some graphic tees and hoodies that I could definitely see my little sister Rose wearing. But everything is under $50, with most of the pieces around $25. I read one article about how the Olsen twins are going back to their roots. They haven't done anything for a younger audience in awhile and this is refreshing. The collection has clothes that are a little more mainstream than their other lines, but i think that's what they were aiming for. I have seen some criticism of it, saying it isn't fashion forward, but 15 year old girls aren't looking to wear clothes like that. For the most part, I like the clothes and pretty much anything that else Mary Kate and Ashley do!

current hair obsession/inspiration

Ah, J'adore Carey Mulligan. Enough said.
I love her and the character she plays in An Education. Everything about that movies makes me want to run away and go back in time and adore everything French. And makes me angry for allowing two years of college language to float out of my mind....

love love love

my love of winter wear

I thought it was finally supposed to warm up in this damn windy city! Oh well, it gives me a chance to wear my oh so warm chocolate brown steger mukluks that I adore and also time to dream about buying these lovelies on my chilly walk to work. The picture for sure does not do them justice. They are knee high, soft, warm, are so not uggs. No offense to ugg lovers, I do think they are cute, especially the short black ones, but these boots have been featured in Elle AND they are worn on the Iditarod. Nothing can compete with these.

I also frequently dream about how warm and comfy my feet would be walking around in these:

Cute with skinny jeans and a slouchy sweater??

Why am I so obsessed!?
I think it is my MN love shinning through.
